ROADSIDE GUIDES
How roadside recovery quotes work
What affects recovery quotes and the information independent operators need before giving a price.
Published by the OTTERS editorial team. Updated 20 October 2026.
1. Describe the job accurately
Give the vehicle make, type and registration. Confirm whether the vehicle rolls, steers and has damaged wheels.
2. Share pickup and destination
Provide the exact pickup point, drop-off location and any access restrictions. For tyre, battery or lockout assistance a destination is normally unnecessary.
3. Compare the full offer
Check the operator, included service, estimated arrival, total price and exclusions. Availability and ETA are only confirmed after an operator responds.
4. Confirm before dispatch
OTTERS asks for the full agreed payment before authorising dispatch. Keep a copy of your offer and job reference.
